Area 51 Motorsports (formerly Area 51 Offroad) is a small, family-owned shop located in Odessa, Missouri. Owner, Chad Newman, has been a motorcycle and ATV enthusiast all of his life. He worked for several different dealerships over the years but dreamed of owning his own shop someday. Chad started the business in his garage in the spring of 2003. After a year or so the business had grown enough that he needed more space. He moved to a shop in Oak Grove in 2004. In early 2008 he relocated to a bigger, better location. The shop is now located 2 miles west of Odessa, on the south outer road of I-70. 

 

In 2019 Kirk Trimmer, also a motorcycle and ATV enthusiast, started working for Area 51 Motorsports.  Kirk has been riding and wrenching on motorcycles and ATV's for almost 30 years.  He used to enjoy the thrill of riding sport bikes at 120 mph but now is quite content cruising around on a Harley or just kick'n around the trails in a side by side.  Kirk, like Chad, also dreamed of one day owning his own shop.  Later that year that dream finally became reality. Chad, knowing that Kirk would make the Area 51 name proud, decided to move into the next chapter of HIS life and sold Area 51 Motorsports to Kirk.

 

in late 2023, the Downing family purchased Area 51 Motorsports from Kirk.  Sean, Jessie, Erica, and TJ know that Area 51 Powersports (Motorsports) is a special company with a long history of trust and pride in its services to the community with a 20-year track record.   We are excited to be a part of this and our goal is to expand operations as the demand for more products and services has been heard by you and is now going to happen.   Starting in 2024, you will begin to see changes to better serve you including new products like Anti-Theft Devices to help protect your assets, a new Showroom and Parts Department as well as the introduction of both new and used powersports machines.   Our family loves powersports as well as turning a wrench which makes this new venture a perfect combination.
