Area 51 Motorsports (formerly Area 51 Offroad) was originally started in 2003 by Chad Newman. Having experience working for several dealerships over the years, Chad dreamed of owning his own shop. For 16-years, Chad continued developing his brand, originally starting out of his garage and eventually moving to its final destination in rural Layafette County, Missouri.
In 2019 Kirk Trimmer, also a motorcycle and ATV enthusiast, started working for Area 51 Motorsports. Kirk, like Chad, also dreamed of one day owning his own shop. Later that year that dream finally became reality. Chad, knowing that Kirk would make the Area 51 name proud, decided to move into the next chapter of HIS life and sold Area 51 Motorsports to Kirk.
In late 2023, the Downing family purchased Area 51 Motorsports from Kirk. Sean, Jessie, Erica, and TJ know that Area 51 Powersports (Motorsports) is a special company with a long history of trust and pride in its services to the community with a 20-year track record. We are excited to be a part of this and our goal is to expand operations as the demand for more products and services has been heard by you and is now going to happen.
